Between Boundaries: An Atomic System
The project delves into the exploration and development of boundaries, including the Intervention boundary, the boundary of Parque Mayer, and the boundary of the Botanical Garden. It examines how these borders interact and shape public spaces.
On the periphery, the private program is consolidated, leading to a thorough cleaning and reconfiguration of the interior core. Along the garden boundary, a new walking path emerges as the quintessential public space, facilitating a direct and intimate connection with nature at a human scale.
The convergence of various systems, such as the ecological system (air, water, soil, fauna, and flora), the mobility system (pedestrian and vehicular), and the cultural programming system (museums, performance halls, rehearsal studios), combined with an intensified urban experience, contribute to defining a distinctive urban identity.
The transformation of Parque Mayer into a space that fosters artistic cross-pollination and transdisciplinary projects (theatre, music, multimedia dance, and visual arts) is particularly focused on education and informal gatherings. It aims to provide a platform for emerging artists and attract diverse audiences.
A key challenge of the proposal lies in empowering every citizen to transition from being a mere spectator to becoming an active participant, thereby enriching the essence of the new Parque Mayer.
