The project, intents to answer any and all of the programmatic conditions attached to an exhibition environment, generating multiple scenarios, based on the simple extrusion of a vertical element. The system supports all the features expected from an exhibition set, acting at various contexts and at different scales, generating informed spaces and inducing a multitude of uses. The proposed modular design constitutes itself as a simultaneous pack of layers of intervention; it’s the infrastructure, it’s a structure, it generates spaces, it works as support, covering all human scales from urban level to the object.
The project main spatial feature is achieved by the repetition of a vertical element, which ensures the proposal global unity and a consolidated relationship with any given pre-existing space. The proposal provides different ranges of circulation. In addition to the main continuous circulation, there is one informal movement, a wandering path of discovery, offering different interaction levels.
The colonnade provides a mutable design and a diverse perceptual experience leading to various degrees of permeability; opacity crystallizes exhibition pathways - it’s a wall, transparency builds interactive spaces - it’s a plinth, its absence defines areas of information and rest - it’s a desk, it’s a bench.
This project promotes interrelationships and an ambiguous spatial experience at several scales, relating to the implementation space, relating with the urban scale and with the territory. Aiming to create a cultural event which can invite people to an informal approach to Art and other members of the community, giving them the opportunity to learn and look at present day’s cultural production through a spatial, visual and tactile experience.
